Elegant Wedding at Château Fengari
When Catherine and Marcos reached out to me about photographing their wedding at Chateau Fengari, I knew right away it would be something special. This sweet couple traveled all the way from the United States to celebrate their love in an intimate wedding at the enchanting Chateau Fengari.
Chateau Fengari is the kind of place that seems to come straight out of a dream. With its timeless architecture and undeniable charm, it became the perfect backdrop for a day that blended French refinement and American elegance. The couple chose to keep their guest list intimate, inviting only their closest family and friends.
The ceremony took place just in front of the Château’s grand façade — a breathtaking setting that framed their vows like a scene from a fairytale. The sunlit stone, the soft rustle of trees, and the gentle joy of their loved ones created an atmosphere of quiet magic.
The mantilla ritual
Catherine & Marcos chose to include the « mantilla » ritual in their ceremony. In Hispanic traditions, a mantilla is a lace or silk veil worn over the head and shoulders, symbolizing modesty and spiritual devotion. That day, the couple adapted the tradition in a manner reminiscent of a « handfasting. »
As they stood before their loved ones, a delicate mantilla was draped over their hands, symbolizing their unity and the shelter they provide each other in life’s journey. This gesture added a layer of depth and cultural richness to the ceremony, resonating with the couple’s shared values and heritage.
From the very beginning, Catherine and Marcos envisioned a wedding that was both sophisticated and warm, where every guest would feel at home. What struck me most about this day was its effortless flow and the genuine joy that permeated every moment. Laughter echoed through the gardens, and smiles were abundant, creating an atmosphere that was both relaxed and celebratory. It was a true fusion of cultures, where the charm of a French château met the warmth and openness of an American celebration.
For their floral design, the couple chose a classic white color palette, bringing an air of simplicity and elegance to the day.
