A Dream Wedding in France: Becca and James’ Love Story at Château de Redon As a wedding photographer in France, I am fortunate to work with couples from all over the world, capturing their unforgettable moments in the most charming areas of the French countryside. Recently, I had the honor of photographing the wedding of Becca and James, an English couple who chose to get married in France, at the lovely and authentic Château de Redon.
Becca and James’ love story began back in 2011, when they were just 18 and 19 years old. It all started with a chance meeting at a local nightclub, where they were introduced by a mutual friend. This encounter sparked a connection, and after their first date a week later, their relationship blossomed quickly. Within two months, they were a couple and have been together since. Their journey led them to this beautiful wedding in France that was every bit as magical as their love story.
“Our wedding was a dream come true. It was everything we wanted and more. We chose Chateau de Redon as our venue because it felt homely and cozy. The vibes were romantic, relaxed, classic, personal, and incredibly fun! Our guests thought our wedding was very personal to us as individuals, as well as a couple, and complimented our personalities perfectly!”

LIVING THE FRENCH DREAM
Becca & James decide to get married in France after attending a friends’ wedding in 2022. Their friends had tied the knot in a beautiful French Château, and it left such a lasting impression on them. “We both knew that we wanted something similar for our wedding day,” Becca shared. After visiting several venues, Château de Redon immediately stood out. The newly renovated Château, located in a picturesque area of France, had everything they were looking for. « It ticked every single box for us, » Becca shared, « and the wonderful owner, Anita, made it feel even more like home. » The moment we saw Château de Redon, we knew it was the one for us,” said Becca. “The beauty of the surroundings and the attention to detail at the venue made it a perfect choice for our wedding in France.”
For Becca and James, the aesthetic of their wedding was just as important as the venue itself. They envisioned an elegant, timeless atmosphere that would allow the natural beauty of Château de Redon to shine. “We wanted our wedding to be minimal and classic,” Becca explained, “but also personal to us.” The couple chose a refined color palette of green, white, and pampas grass, perfectly complementing the stunning grounds of Château de Redon. Becca and James worked closely with the talented Hidden Botanics team to design the florals that would bring their vision to life.
Unforgettable Moments: From the First Look to the First Dance When I asked Becca and James about their favorite moments from the day, it was clear that their wedding at Château de Redon was filled with unforgettable emotions. For our lovely bride, the first look with James was a moment she would cherish forever. “It was such a special, intimate moment I will never forget,” she said. For James, it was the ceremony and their first dance that stood out the most.

Becca’s Dream Wedding Dress: A Perfect Fit Every bride dreams of finding the perfect wedding dress, and for Becca, her dream came true when she chose a gown from Grace Loves Lace. Having admired the brand on Instagram for years, Becca knew it was the one when she slipped into the Olive dress:
“It was a dream of mine to become a Grace bride! I adored their lace dresses, backless dresses in particular, so I was just hoping and praying that I would fall in love with one when I tried them on in their London showroom. It was my first and only visit to a wedding dress shop! When I tried on Olive, it was the easiest yes. She couldn’t be more ‘me’ and the comfiest dress! I knew I would feel fabulous in on my wedding day.”
DISCOVER THE AREA - A ROUND-TRIP FROM CHÂTEAU DE REDON
As a photographer based in South-west of France, I’ve had the privilege of capturing many weddings in France, but working with Becca and James was something truly special. The couple first discovered my work on Instagram. After our first online meeting, I guess we all felt an immediate connection, and our relationship blossomed during the planning process. That connection and the relaxed atmosphere helped me capture the essence of their day in a way that felt tailored. It is a great honour to be part of such a beautiful and meaningful celebration at Château de Redon.
“We first set eyes on Jade’s work through Instagram and quite simply fell in love! We loved the way Jade captured our wedding day. We first met Jade online, and she was so warm, kind, professional so we instantly felt a connection with her. Jade kept in contact via Instagram throughout the whole planning process leading up to our wedding. This felt like we had built a relationship with Jade so when the wedding day came, we were already friends and super comfortable with her. The professionalism and kind approach made our day even more special”, Becca says.
GET MARRIED AT CHATEAU DE REDON
After their lovely intimate wedding in France at Chateau de Redon, Becca and James are looking forward to a relaxing and adventurous honeymoon. In April 2024, they will be heading to Sri Lanka for two weeks. Although they haven’t left yet, they are both excited about the opportunity to explore the island’s beautiful culture, and landscapes.
Becca and James’ wedding at Château de Redon was an unforgettable celebration of love, elegance, and personal touches. The stunning venue, combined with the couple’s attention to detail, created a day that they—and their guests—will never forget.
